Michael Pohuski has always been behind a camera. His father was a photographer and Michael began his career by sweeping the darkroom floors and mixing chemicals. He studied fine art and film at the University of Maryland and combines his art and experience into a unique mix for advertising work. He is known for his dynamic use of light in his stills and as a Cameraman/Director he brings an artistic look to his film projects.

"I love watching the light as it crosses the day; making shapes and shadows."

Michael's intense curiosity and pursuit of knowledge is reflected in the quality of every assignment. All productions are undertaken with the studio team's planning and great attention to detail. The results show in the many awards the studio has received, including Addy's and Communication Arts.

As an historian and underwater archaeologist, Michael has participated in many maritime projects, including the recovery of a 19th century steamboat engine from the Chesapeake Bay and the US Navy survey of the German submarine U-1105 in the Potomac River. He has published several articles and papers on his research. Michael lives in Annapolis, and spends much of his time on the water.
